Carnival on the Water of Comacchio

The Carnival on the Water of Comacchio is a one-of-a-kind event that transforms the town into an open-air spectacle, where art, imagination and tradition are reflected in the waters of its historic canals.
The undisputed stars of the event are the boats: true artistic creations that come to life on the water, turning into imaginary worlds, visual stories and floating stage sets, crafted with outstanding artisanal skill and creativity.
The gentle flow of the canals becomes the natural stage for a parade unique in Italy, engaging visitors of all ages. Music, live shows, entertainment and performances animate the streets of the historic centre, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
Adding an extra touch of magic is Forcolina, the Carnival’s beloved mascot, especially popular with children.
In 2026, the Carnival on the Water celebrates its 13th edition, confirming itself as a major tourist attraction that draws thousands of visitors every year. A successful formula that blends water parades, shows and music with the distinctive identity of Comacchio.

SUNDAY, 8 FEBRUARY
10:30 am – Piazzetta Trepponti
Parade of children from nurseries, kindergartens and parishes through the streets of the historic centre, wearing original Carnival costumes.
11:00 am – Historic Centre | Via XX Settembre (stage)
Award ceremony for the parade groups.
1:15 pm – Piazzetta Trepponti
Presentation of the crews and themes of the allegorical boats.
2:00 pm
Start of the parade featuring spectacular allegorical boats, dance schools and masked groups.
4:30 pm – Piazzetta Trepponti
Dance performances and choreographies by local dance schools.
