Commemoration of the Landing of Anita and Giuseppe Garibaldi

A commemorative event celebrating one of the most significant episodes of the Italian Risorgimento. The commemoration of the landing of Anita and Giuseppe Garibaldi takes visitors on a journey through remembrance ceremonies and an evocative historical re-enactment in the very places where they came ashore.

The programme begins with wreath-laying ceremonies in Comacchio, Porto Garibaldi and Lido delle Nazioni:

• 5:15 pm – Comacchio: Loggia del Grano and the Chapel of Colonel Nino Bonnet in the municipal cemetery
• 6:00 pm – Porto Garibaldi: Memorial at Piazza III Agosto roundabout and the Anita and Garibaldi Monument in Viale Ugo Bassi
• 6:30 pm – Lido delle Nazioni: Garibaldi's Hut

The event continues at Garibaldi's Hut, where performers in period costume and historic boats from the Cesenatico Historic Maritime Museum will recreate the famous landing, bringing an important chapter of local history back to life.

The programme also includes greetings from the local authorities, a performance by the V-Vox Choir of the Comacchio Civic Music School and a tasting of local specialities, offering visitors an authentic blend of history, music and regional flavours.
