Feast of Saint Cassian

From 9 to 13 August, Comacchio celebratesits patron saint with five days of music, entertainment,tradition and local flavours. Enjoy an authentic immersioninto the city's heritage through street food, a funfair, thehistoric canal regatta, bingo draws and aspectacular fireworks display that brings together faith,culture and community spirit.

7–13 August

Funfair – Via Zappata
Open daily from 4:00 pm to midnight.

Monday, 10 August

Co-Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cassian – 9:00pm
Free guided tour: "Discovering Saint Cassian and HisCathedral."
Meeting point on the Saint John Paul II churchsquare in front of the basilica.
A special activity for children and teenagers is also planned.

Tuesday, 11 August

Co-Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cassian – 9:00pm
Accuratio et Expressivitas, organ recital by Fabio Ciofini,as part of the Emilia Romagna Festival.

Wednesday, 12 August

Piazza XX Settembre

• 6:00 pm – Opening of La Plaza del Gusto, the street food village featuring specialities from around the world (also open on 13 August).
• 9:30 pm – Live concert by Ophidia Band.
• Midnight – Merchants' Grand Bingo Draw with prizes worth €2,500. Proceeds will support ASD Comacchiese 2015.

Trepponti Square

• 9:30 pm – Concert by Sister's & Friend.

Thursday, 13 August – Feast of Saint Cassian

Foce Station – Comacchio Valleys

• 6:00 pm – Musical Encounters at the Foce: performances by Purple, Starman and Freedom, organised by the Comacchio Civic Music School.

Piazza XX Settembre

• 6:00 pm – Opening of La Plaza del Gusto.

Co-Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cassian

• 6:00 pm – Solemn Mass in honour of the Patron Saint, followed by the traditional blessing of the Comacchio boats before the Historic Regatta.

Navigable Canal – Departure from ANMI Club (Viadello Squero 2)

• 7:00 pm – Historic Saint Cassian Regatta, featuring the traditional vulicepi, the distinctive eight-metre-long, fifty-centimetre-wide boats originally designed for navigating the Comacchio lagoons.
  After the race, visitors can enjoy a tasting of freshly fried local fish organised by the APS Historic Boats Association.

• 9:30 pm – Concert by Supersoul.

Trepponti Square

• 9:30 pm – Almost... Tale e Quale Show.

Piazza XX Settembre

• 11:30 pm – Grand Bingo Draw with prizes worth €12,500, followed by the Lottery Draw, where the top prize is a new car. Proceeds will support ASD Comacchiese 2015.

The celebrations conclude with a spectacular fireworksdisplay launched from Ponte San Pietro, lighting upthe skies above Comacchio in the traditional farewellto its patron saint.
