Following the incredible success of the Notte Rosa (Pink Night), Comacchio continues to celebrate the summer season with one of the local area's most spectacular and iconic events: the Carnival on the Water (Carnevale sull’Acqua).

On Saturday, 27th June, the historic town centre will transform into an enchanting open-air theatre. Channels, bridges, and squares will provide the perfect backdrop for an evening of music, performances, and tradition, featuring illuminated allegorical boats, masked groups, and entertainment for all ages.

This one-of-a-kind event celebrates the deep bond between the lagoon city and water—the element that has shaped its history, culture, and identity. Lights, colours, and reflections on the canals will create a magical atmosphere, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors.

The Evening Programme

  • 20:30 – The official opening ceremony kicks off the grand festivities against the breathtaking backdrop of the Trepponti bridge, featuring special celebrity guest Manuela Arcuri.

  • 21:00 – The Grand Parade of Allegorical Boats begins. As one of the most anticipated highlights of the event, ten beautifully crafted, illuminated boats will parade along the canals in a floating procession of music, fantasy, and colour. The parade will be led by the Carnival's official mascot, Forcolina.

  • Throughout the evening – Dance and fitness associations, costumed groups, theatre companies, and the traditional parade of the Dame di Carnevale (Carnival Ladies) will turn the historic centre into a vibrant, widespread stage.

  • 21:30 (Piazza XX Settembre) – Live music takes over with a concert by the Millennium Bug, presenting their Top Hits 2000s show. This musical journey features pop and rock hits from the 90s and 2000s up to today's favourites, guaranteed to get every generation singing along.

  • All night long – The historic centre will also host street markets, food stalls, and a funfair for children, offering entertainment for the whole family.

Grand Finale at Trepponti

  • 23:45 – The event culminates in the highly anticipated Grand Pyromusical Finale. At the iconic Trepponti, a spectacular display of lights, music, and fireworks will illuminate the night sky and reflect on the canal waters, offering the audience a truly magical and unforgettable conclusion.
