Once Upon a Time, a Nativity Scene on the Water

Christmas Eve in Comacchio is an experience that enchants the senses and warms the heart. During the festive season the historic centre becomes a place suspended between tradition and natural beauty, where lights are mirrored in the canals and Christmas feels like an ancient tale.

In the late afternoon of 24 December, the streets begin to come alive.

5:00 pm · Cathedral: the “Bambén”
The traditional “Bambén” service, with the blessing of the nativity figurines, opens the evening in the spirit of tradition.

6:00 pm · Trepponti: pyrotheatre show
One of Comacchio’s most iconic landmarks becomes the stage for a pyrotheatre show that delights young and old alike. Fireworks, launched in a riot of colour and sparks, light up the sky and reflect in the waters of the canals, a Christmas Eve finale to remember.
