Madonna del Mare 2026 | Porto Garibaldi

From May 29 to June 7, Porto Garibaldi comes alive to celebrate one of the most beloved events for both locals and visitors: the traditional Madonna del Mare Festival. A unique celebration blending spirituality, maritime heritage and entertainment, filling the town with music, local flavours and authentic traditions.

The highlight of the festival is the evocative sea procession, during which fishing boats escort the statue of the Madonna along the canal and out to sea, where a wreath is laid in memory of those who lost their lives at sea.

Throughout the event, Porto Garibaldi will welcome guests with food stands serving local specialities, live entertainment, activities for children, religious celebrations and the traditional funfair, creating a festive atmosphere for all ages.

7:00 pm – Solemn Holy Mass presided over by Archbishop Gian Carlo Perego
Followed by – Procession through the town with the statue of the Madonna, local authorities, worshippers and marching band
12:00 pm and 7:00 pm – Opening of the food stand
9:00 pm – Latin American evening
Sunday, June 7 – Madonna del Mare Festival
10:00 am – Solemn Mass with authorities and worshippers
10:40 am – Procession of the Madonna statue to the embarkation point
11:15 am – Sea procession with wreath-laying ceremony in memory of those lost at sea
12:15 pm – Return to the harbour and procession through the town streets
12:30 pm – Solemn blessing and closing ceremony
12:00 pm and 7:00 pm – Opening of the food stand
9:00 pm – Live entertainment
11:30 pm – Fireworks display
