A Bridge of Lights

There are bridges that lead from one bank to the other, and bridges that lead somewhere else in time. In Comacchio, over the Immaculate Conception holiday, the canals begin to glow, nativity scenes appear on the water, and the lagoon prepares for Christmas at its own unhurried pace. It is the perfect moment to choose to stay: four days to open the festive season in a town that has made water its poetry.

A Bridge of Lights is the package for those who wish to welcome Christmas somewhere out of the ordinary, with stories of history, winter landscapes and authentic flavours, guided by the lights and traditions of the Delta.

The package includes:

• 3-night stay with breakfast in a selected accommodation in Comacchio’s historic centre, to wake up among quiet canals and bridges dressed for the holidays.
• Guided walk through the historic centre to discover the nativity scenes on the water: a route with an expert guide along bridges, canals and views that tell the town’s traditions.
• Guided walk in the Comacchio lagoons: a stroll along the embankments through lagoon landscapes and winter birdlife, ending with a small tasty break.
• Admission to the Manifattura dei Marinati: a plunge into lagoon memory, among the great chimneys of the Sala dei Fuochi (the “Fire Room”) and the ancient gestures that made Comacchio’s eel famous.
• Before you leave, choose your Christmas hamper at the Flavours Corner at the Museo Delta Antico, with Vini delle Sabbie wines, honey and other local delicacies.
