Po Delta Rice - IGP


The rice, a precious cereal, comes in the so-called Italian Camargue around the year 1500. Here it roots perfectly and is an atypical rice-growing in Italy: a rotational one, but whose products have a better quality.

The production areas, mostly included in the Great Reclamation territories, are Jolanda di Savoia, Massa Fiscaglia and two fractions of Codigoro, Mezzogoro and Pontelangorino.The most common varieties are: Baldo, Arborio, Carnaroli, and Volano.

The rice is made for 90% by starchy substances, while the remaining components, such as proteins, lipids, crude fibre and minerals, are equally necessary for the power supply. The rice protein, then, are qualitatively superior to those of any other cereal for composition and digestibility.
