Delizia di Benvignante
The Delizia Del Benvignante was designed by the court architect Pietro Benvenuto degli Ordini for Borso d'Este and testifies the sober and refined elegance of Ferrara architecture during the Renaissance.
Although being a country villa, it held a non-secondary defensive function and represented also the political power of the Este family, thanks to the embattled tower with a cloister vault that stands at the centre of the building. The coat of arms gazes out over the brickwork arched entrance is another sign of the antique splendour.
